On July 24, 2017, Sustainable Construction Research under Big Data Forum was held in the conference room 210 of School of Construction Management and Real Estate, Chongqing University. The research forum is hosted by International Research Center for Sustainable Built Environment of Chongqing University (IRCSBE), the first batch of key scientific research platform of Chongqing University, providing interdisciplinary research and communication for experts, scholars, teachers and students in the field of urban construction. The audiences from Department of Land Surveying and Geo-informatics in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Department of Building Services Engineering in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and College of food Science Southwestern University participated in the forum, and some professors were officially appointed as members of the academic committee of IRCSBE.

The first agenda of the forum was chaired by Professor Ye Gui, deputy director of IRCSBE. Professor Liu Guiwen, president of School of Construction Management and Real Estate, Chongqing University, delivered a welcome speech. He warmly welcomed the guests and expressed expectations for the research in the field of construction management under big data. Professor Shen Liyin, director of IRCSBE welcomed the guests, teachers and students present, and expressed gratitude to the guidance and support from school and college, and thank for the teachers and students who contributes to the selection of the first university level key research platform, and shared the future development planning for IRCSBE.

Professor Liu Guiwen, Professor Shen Liyin, and Professor Yang Yu(vice president of School of Construction Management and Real Estate, Chongqing University), awarded the letter of appointment for Professor Li Zhilin from Department of Land Surveying and Geo-informatics in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Professor Wang Shengwei from Department of Building Services Engineering in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Professor and Professor Wu Wenbiao from College of food Science Southwestern University. The three professors were officially appointed for as members of the academic committee of IRCSBE.

The second agenda of the forum was chaired by Associate Professor Mao Chao, deputy director of IRCSBE. Professor Li Zhilin made the report, "spatio-temporal data mining: the new breakthrough point of construction management". He introduced the connotation and application of big data, and the breakthrough for traditional research thought and paradigm, and multi-dimensional application of big data in construction management and practice. Professor Wang Shengwei reported on “establish a team characteristics, do influential research on building energy-saving in industrial and academic field”. He shared how to combine the theory and practical application, and how to establish the direction of individual and research team. Professor Wang emphasized that an influential research team should pay attention to the current situation and needs of the industry and set up its own characteristics, so that the research will have an impact on the high level. Professor Wu Wenbiao made a report on the importance of sustainable development of food resources for the sustainable development of small towns in southwest mountainous area. He combined with the practical needs of the southwest mountain small towns development, expounded the connotation of sustainable food resources, analyzes the important of sustainable development of food resources for the sustainable development of small towns in Southwest China.

Participants in the forum actively asked questions and discussed with experts and scholars.

The forum provided a communication platform on application of sustainable development and big data for teachers and students. In addition, it established solid foundation to the research and practice work for IRCSBE, which proved to be a successful interdisciplinary and innovative research forum.
